Title: President and Recruitment Director

John began his public interest career in 1997 after graduating from the University of Illinois. He left college with a degree in History and a strong belief in Lincoln's "government of the people, by the people, for the people". John started in the Fellowship Program at U.S. Public Interest Research Group (U.S. PIRG), where he assisted the Director of PIRG Development in working with the state PIRGs on planning, and in running trainings, coordinating meetings and keeping track of goals and progress. He also spent time working with U.S. PIRG and the Fund For the Public Interest on staff development. In 2007, recognizing the importance of bringing in more people to build the public interest movement, John accepted a position as a recruitment director, focused on entry-level hiring. John joined the staff of the newly formed Work for Progress in 2008, helping to launch a firm that provides recruitment and entry-level hiring services to a wide range of non-profit organizations and campaigns.
